When Atlas resets the initial stages are thus, the sky lowers, a dense fog forces sleep, first the bugs gorge on the people and the plants, giants walk and make the ground flat, next the builders create a new layer resembling the old, the Riplee spawn the people and the plants back as they were roughly 20 years ago, finally the fog lifts and the people wake.

There was one time when the fog couldn't put them to sleep and they fought back.
It's an old story, but Riplee rumor amongst themselves this plank almost ended Kaulo in that time.
